Barbara was the human side of HMIT - warm friendly personality whose phone and personal way of dealing with people I much admired. She was a delightful colleague and cheered up the office. I enjoyed working with her and am very sad that she did not have a long retirement which she richly deserved. I shall light a candle in the Abbey for her. Diana Rose
